Two OP destinations offer free admission through Kansas Sunflower Summer Program

Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead and the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens are participating in the 2024 Kansas Tourism Sunflower Summer program. Eligible Kansas families may download the Sunflower Summer app to claim tickets to participating venues from May 25-August 11.

“We are thrilled to offer our destinations for the 2024 Kansas Sunflower Summer program,” said Jermel Stevenson, Overland Park Parks and Recreation Director. “This is a fantastic opportunity for us to invite Kansas families to explore the wonders of Overland Park, ensuring they leave with unforgettable memories and a deeper connection to our community’s rich heritage and natural beauty.”

How the program works:

  • Sunflower Summer is a free program for Kansas residents only.
  • The program offers free admission to participating attractions across the state for school-aged Kansas students from Pre-K through 12th grade.
  • Up to two adults may accompany students and access a free ticket.
  • Tickets can be used once per attraction, per season.
  • The app can be downloaded on both Apple and Android devices.

Kansas Tourism, a division of the Kansas Department of Commerce, aims to inspire travel to and throughout Kansas to maximize the positive impact that tourism has on our state and local communities.
