‘Tis the season to go green; Holiday tree recycling opportunities in Overland Park

She’s a beaut, but what do you do with your tree after the holidays?

As you wrap up this holiday season, recycle your tree at one of the City’s drop-off locations now through Jan. 9!

Instead of ending up in a landfill, your tree will be mulched and used in City parks! Before you drop off your tree, be sure to remove all decorations, including lights, tinsel and ornaments. Artificial trees are not accepted.

Leave your tree in the parking lot at:

  1. Young’s Park – 7701 Antioch (5 a.m.-10 p.m.)
  2. Indian Creek Recreation Center – 10308 Marty (5 a.m.-10 p.m.)
  3. Quivira Park – 11901 Quivira (5 a.m.-10 p.m.)
  4. Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens – 8909 W. 179th St. (hours for Arboretum dropoff are 9 a.m-5 p.m.)

By recycling your holiday tree, you play a vital role in creating a greener and more sustainable city and helping keep our parks beautiful all year round. Find more information on holiday tree recycling at opkansas.org.
