Overland Park residents affected by severe weather can drop storm debris off at Young’s Pool, 8421 W. 77th Street, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. on the following days:
- Saturday, August 12
- Sunday, August 13
Storm debris drop-off will not be offered on August 5-6 in order to clear debris collected during previous drop-off events and create space for storm debris drop-off at Young’s Pool on August 12-13.
What to bring
You must have proof of residency to drop off debris at the site. Staff and volunteers will be checking for either an Overland Park ID, or an ID and matching utility bill with an Overland Park address. Non-residents driving vehicles will be permitted to use the drop-off site when an Overland Park resident appears with them and with proof of residency.
Branches, limbs, or stumps can be bundled or loose. Please do not bag your debris.
Please plan to unload your vehicle yourself. Volunteers will be on-site to check residents in, but will not be available to help unload vehicles.
Debris from commercial vehicles will not be accepted.
City to remove street tree debris
The City maintains trees in the public right-of-way and will remove storm debris from these trees.
Street trees are typically in the area about 11 feet back from the curb.
If a tree in the right-of-way adjacent to your home was affected by severe weather, file an OPCares request to let us know.
The City does not maintain trees on private property.
Residents can also work with their private trash haulers to remove yard debris. Trash haulers in Overland Park are required to provide yard waste pickup during the summer.
