Fireworks Rain Show – July 5

Due to flooding in Indian Creek, extremely muddy conditions in the park and the threat of more weather in the forecast, the Overland Park Star Spangled Spectacular scheduled for Thursday, July 4, was canceled. 

A fireworks show will now take place on Friday, July 5 at 10 p.m. There will be no food trucks or musical performances on Friday.

Share your thoughts on 2021 budget

Development of Overland Park’s 2021 operating budget is under way.

First, we want to know what you think. Share your thoughts on the 2021 budget online.

Your comments at the beginning of the process provide feedback for the Governing Body, City Manager, and City staff during development of the City’s annual operating budget.

Use the form online to share your thoughts before April 25.

The city manager will propose the 2021 budget to the mayor and city council in June. After that, City Council committees will review budget proposals related to individual goal areas. The Committee of the Whole will meet again in July to review goal area committee recommendations. There will be another public hearing in August regarding the budget, and adoption of the 2021 budget will be scheduled for late August.

The budget includes revenue projections, allocations for daily operations, contracts with outside agencies, maintenance and capital improvements, and more.
