SevenDays inspires acts of kindness across Overland Park

Overland Park is proud to support SevenDays and its mission to combat hate by fostering kindness and understanding in our community. SevenDays is a local nonprofit dedicated to creating a more inclusive and compassionate society, one act of kindness at a time.

Each year, SevenDays hosts a week-long series of themed events to honor the three lives lost to a hate crime in 2014. These events promote kindness through education and meaningful conversations, with proceeds supporting scholarships and community enrichment programs.

Starting March 31, SevenDays invites the community to participate in daily acts of kindness, each centered around a unique theme:

  • Monday, March 31 – Love: Send a heartfelt note to someone special
  • Tuesday, April 1 – Discover: Explore and learn about different cultures or religions.
  • Wednesday, April 2 – Others: Perform a random act of kindness for someone in need.
  • Thursday, April 3 – Connect: Reach out to someone you don’t speak to often.
  • Friday, April 4 – You: Prioritize self-care and appreciation.
  • Monday, April 7 – Go: Spend time outdoors and reconnect with nature.
  • Tuesday, April 8 – Onward: Commit to spreading kindness all year long.

SevenDays will also distribute stickers and bookmarks on the opening day of Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead on April 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
