Recycle, shred and clear out clutter with OP’s drop-off events this Saturday

Do you have old construction debris or electronics cluttering your space?

This weekend, take advantage of two opportunities to dispose of unwanted items responsibly!

Construction Debris Drop-Off
Saturday, Sept. 21
8 a.m.-2 p.m.

It’s time to say goodbye to construction waste! This Saturday, residents can drop off old decking, fencing, lumber, railroad ties and other demolition debris at Blue Valley Switzer District Activity Complex, 13310 Switzer Road.

Staff will check identification to confirm residency. To ensure efficiency, materials should be packed in boxes or buckets to speed up the unloading process. Keeping items separated also helps with recycling efforts. Commercial waste will not be accepted at this event.

Appointments are prioritized but not required. You can find event information, a full list of accepted materials and make an appointment here

Electronics Recycling + Shredding Event
Saturday, Sept. 21
9 a.m.-Noon

Bring old electronics and sensitive documents to the City’s recycling and shredding event at Cottonwood Point Elementary School, 10521 W. 129th Street. Recycle computers, televisions, phones, rechargeable batteries, stereos and small appliances.

There is no residency requirement for this event. A suggested donation of $5 per box will be accepted for document shredding.
