A portion of Tomahawk Creek Trail underneath 135th Street and U.S. 69 will close temporarily on Friday, June 2 due to the U.S. 69 Corridor Modernization and Expansion Project, or 69 Express. The trail is expected to reopen in summer 2024.

The Kansas Department of Transportation’s project between 103rd Street and 151st Street will build a new express toll lane in each direction adjacent to the existing general-purpose lanes to increase safety and improve congestion in the area. The express lanes will open to traffic by the end of 2025.
