The pickleball craze has swept OP.
Those who play pickleball probably already know that Overland Park is home to dozens of places to play, with even more coming.
One of the fastest-growing sports in the country, pickleball combines elements of tennis, table tennis and badminton into one sport. It can be fast-paced but is also an easy social activity.
Overland Park loves pickleball so much, our city earned the title of Most Pickleball-Obsessed Community in the country. The Professional Pickleball Association even chose Overland Park as a host city for a stop along the PPA Tour. Both amateurs and professionals are set to hit the Elite Tennis and Wellness courts to compete in the Kansas City Open August 24-27.
Visit Overland Park counted, and there are more than 79 places to play in our city. Residents can use courts located at City parks for free on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional courts located at private businesses can be reserved and used for a fee.
