OP named top city for jobs

Overland Park is one of the best cities in the nation for jobs, according to Wallethub.

Each year, the personal finance website ranks cities based on key indicators of job market strength. These include job opportunities, employment growth, average starting salaries, employment rates, job satisfaction, and much more.

“I’m pleased to see this, and not at all surprised,” said Mayor Carl Gerlach. “Economic strength has been a major goal of Overland Park for decades. We are at the center of commerce and will continue to work with the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce and other community partners to bring strong, high-paying jobs to our city.”

Wallethub highlighted Overland Park for several strengths: median annual income, unemployment rate, and housing affordability, among other metrics.

Overland Park ranked 11 on Wallethub’s list.

It was the only city in metropolitan Kansas City to be included in the top 100 of the ranking.
