As you start the first chapter of a brand new year, uncover literary adventures with your community! Read, exercise, and converse with fellow book lovers at the REC Book Club, a free monthly book club held at Matt Ross Community Center.
The REC Book Club encourages exploring new perspectives, engaging in thought-provoking discussions and making lasting connections with fellow book lovers. The club meets from 7-8:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month, breaking for summer from June-August.
There’s something for everyone in the page-turning line-up for the rest of 2024:
- February: “Horse” by Geraldine Brooks
- March: “Fresh Water for Flowers” by Valérie Perrin
- April: “The Guest Room” by Chris Bohjalian
- May: “The Maid’s Diary” by Loreth Anne White
- September: “Northern Sky” by Flynn Berry
- October: “The Fraud” by Zadie Smith
- November: “The River We Remember” by William Kent Krueger

The REC Book Club is open to everyone, and participation is completely free. Bring your love for literature and an open mind, and you’re ready to join. Find more information and details on the next meeting at opkansas.org/recbookclub.
