Holiday magic awaits in Overland Park

Thompson Park

Located in Downtown OP, Thompson Park becomes a holiday wonderland with twinkling lights and festive decor. The centerpiece? A stunning 50-foot holiday tree by the performance stage—perfect for capturing those seasonal snapshots. The park is open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, and restrooms are heated and open during the winter.

Holiday Market

Looking for a daytime festivity? Support local and kick off your holiday season with a morning of shopping, delicious eats and community cheer at this year’s Holiday Market on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Overland Park Farmers’ Market.

Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead

Holiday Lights on Farmstead Lane is a free event, offering a festive and family-friendly way to enjoy the season from the comfort of your car. Enjoy the magic nightly from 5-10 p.m., starting November 28. Watch the lights dance in time with festive music at the Farmstead’s main entrance.

Luminary Walk

Celebrate the 25th year of this beloved tradition at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens! Stroll softly lit pathways, admire fairy villages, enjoy live music and sip complimentary cider in the Children’s Discovery Garden. 

You can attend the Luminary Walk from 5-9 p.m. on these dates:

  • Friday, Nov. 29-Saturday, Nov. 30
  • Friday, Dec. 6-Saturday, Dec. 7
  • Friday, Dec. 13-Saturday, Dec. 14

Electric Glow

Prefer a quieter experience? Explore the illuminated displays of Luminary Walk without the candlelit woods, Santa, musicians, cider, trains or crowds. Electric Glow at the Arboretum limits capacity, making this relaxed event perfect for a peaceful holiday outing.  

You can attend the Electric Glow from 5-9 p.m. on these dates:

Candlelight Stroll
