Farmers’ Market returns to Downtown Overland Park April 15

Fresh produce, meats, cheeses and specialty products return to Downtown Overland Park on Saturday, April 15 as the Overland Park Farmers’ Market opens for the season. This year’s market layout will resemble the 2022 expanded pavilion site, expanding out from under the Farmers’ Market pavilion and into nearby parking lots and onto Marty Street. As you look forward to spending your Saturday mornings supporting your favorite vendors, here are three tips to serve as your guide to the Overland Park Farmers’ Market.

1.  Plan for Parking

The first step to a successful trip to the Farmers’ Market is finding the right parking spot. All of the major streets in Downtown Overland Park have multiple accessible on-street parking spaces.

Free public parking is also available at:

  • Strang Hall parking lot
  • Edison OP parking garage (enter off 81st Street between Marty and Overland Park Drive)
  • The Vue parking garage (enter off Floyd)
  • Matt Ross Community Center, 8101 Marty (West parking lot)

Once you find your perfect parking spot, walk, bike, ride or roll to 7950 Marty Street to begin your day at the Farmers’ Market.

2. Pick Your Produce and Other Products

Shopping for produce to include in a new recipe? Take a look at what is in season and likely available for purchase. The Overland Park Farmers’ Market gives shoppers access to fresh, local products. Vendors are required to label all products according to their origin.

If you look forward to browsing the aisles while enjoying coffee and treats, the Farmers’ Market also features specialty vendors selling products such as rain barrels, decorative planters, skincare and artisan products.

3. Understand Your Payment Options

All Overland Park Farmers’ Market vendors accept cash payments as well as Farmers’ Market tokens. Tokens can be purchased at the market information booth. Each token is worth $5. There is no transaction fee for purchasing tokens with a debit card, and tokens may be used on any market day. Many vendors also accept credit and debit cards.

Voted the top Farmers’ Market in the country by shoppers in 2022, the Overland Park Farmers’ Market is a vibrant public gathering place that builds community pride and spirit by bringing together shoppers of all ages and interests for 40 years.
