Farmers’ Market opens for the season April 20

Get ready for the return of fresh produce, meats, cheeses, and specialty items as the Overland Park Farmers’ Market kicks off its season on Saturday, April 20. Following opening weekend, expect a growing number of vendors to join the market each week!

Before you browse the aisles, plan ahead for Farmers’ Market fun by reviewing these important details:

1. Lettuce help with parking.

Look for on-street parking along Downtown Overland Park’s major streets. Free public parking is available at locations like Strang Hall parking lot, Edison OP parking garage, The Vue parking garage, and the west parking lot of Matt Ross Community Center.

2. Turnip the excitement about products.

Whether you’re hunting for fresh ingredients for a recipe or exploring specialty items, the Farmers’ Market has you covered. Check out what’s in season and available for purchase, all locally sourced and clearly labeled by origin.

3. Peas review payment options.

There are several payment options offered at the Farmers’ Market. All vendors accept cash and Farmers’ Market tokens, which can be purchased at the market information booth. Each token is valued at $5 and can be used on any market day without transaction fees when purchased with a debit card. Many vendors also accept credit and debit cards for added convenience.

The Farmers’ Market also accepts state-issued nutrition assistant electronic benefit transfer cards from Kansas, Missouri, and all other federally approved states. Learn more about this program and other Farmers’ Market-eligible nutrition assistance programs at opkansas.org.

4. Leaf your pets at home.

We love our furry friends, please leave them home when you visit the Farmers’ Market. In order to provide a clean and sanitary environment, pets other than service animals are not allowed, per City ordinance.

As a hub of community pride and spirit for more than 40 years, the Overland Park Farmers’ Market continues to bring together people of all ages and interests. For more information, visit opkansas.org/farmersmarket.
