Fireworks Rain Show – July 5

Due to flooding in Indian Creek, extremely muddy conditions in the park and the threat of more weather in the forecast, the Overland Park Star Spangled Spectacular scheduled for Thursday, July 4, was canceled. 

A fireworks show will now take place on Friday, July 5 at 10 p.m. There will be no food trucks or musical performances on Friday.

Celebrate Native American culture at First Peoples Festival Sept. 30

Join Native Americans from across the region in celebrating culture and tradition at First Peoples Festival on Saturday, September 30 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. 

First Peoples Festival celebrates and acknowledges the contributions of Native American tribes and encourages understanding between Native and non-Native people. 

At the heart of the First Peoples Festival is a celebration of arts and culture with a variety of activities and performances showcasing Native traditions. Enjoy music, dances, food, crafts and demonstrations for all ages.
