Due to flooding in Indian Creek, extremely muddy conditions in the park and the threat of more weather in the forecast, the Overland Park Star Spangled Spectacular scheduled for Thursday, July 4, was canceled.
A fireworks show will now take place on Friday, July 5 at 10 p.m. There will be no food trucks or musical performances on Friday.
Beginning Monday, May 8, 80th Street will close to traffic both ways between Santa Fe Drive and Floyd Street near Downtown Overland Park. Marked detours will reroute drivers through the area. Road maintenance will conclude and the street will reopen on Friday, May 12.
