Beginning Tuesday, August 29, both directions of 135th Street at U.S. 69 will close nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through August 31 as part of the 69 Express project. Detours will be marked.
The following ramps will remain open for right-turn movements during this closure:
- Westbound 135th Street to northbound U.S. 69
- Southbound U.S. 69 to westbound 135th Street
- Northbound U.S. 69 to eastbound 135th Street
The Kansas Department of Transportation’s project will build a new express toll lane in each direction adjacent to the existing general-purpose lanes to increase safety and improve congestion in the area. The express lanes will open to traffic by the end of 2025. Additional work is also taking place at U.S. 69 and the 167th Street interchange as part of the project.
