Update: This closure was delayed due to weather. Both ramps will now close overnight on Thursday, August 15.
The northbound U.S. 69 ramp to Blue Valley Parkway and the Blue Valley ramp to southbound U.S. 69 will close beginning Sunday, Aug. 11 at 5 p.m. to allow for striping and traffic operations as part of the 69 Express project. Both ramps will reopen by 6 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 12.
During the closure, northbound traffic may continue on U.S. 69 to College Boulevard. Southbound traffic may continue on Metcalf Avenue to 135th Street.
The Kansas Department of Transportation’s project will build a new express toll lane in each direction adjacent to the existing general-purpose lanes to increase safety and improve congestion in the area. The express lanes will open to traffic by the end of 2025. Additional work is also taking place at U.S. 69 and the 167th Street interchange as part of the project.
