Beginning Friday, August 23, 119th Street between Grant Street and Farley/Three Lakes Parkway and the 119th Street to southbound U.S. 69 ramp will close for 60 days. This closure accelerates the reconstruction of 119th Street interchange ramps and U.S. 69 bridges over 119th Street.Â
The southbound U.S. 69 to 119th Street and the 119th Street to northbound U.S. 69 ramps closed in June followed by the closure of the northbound U.S. 69 to 119th Street ramp in July. The 119th Street interchange and ramps are scheduled to reopen in October.
More information on the 119th Street closures can be found on the project website.
The Kansas Department of Transportation’s project will build a new express toll lane in each direction adjacent to the existing general-purpose lanes to increase safety and improve congestion in the area. The express lanes will open to traffic by the end of 2025. Additional work is also taking place at U.S. 69 and the 167th Street interchange as part of the project.
