All lanes of 135th Street under U.S. 69 will close to traffic on Friday, Jan. 5 at 8 p.m. for bridge demolition as part of the 69 Express project. The eastbound 135th Street to northbound U.S. 69 ramp will also close during this time. All other ramps will remain open to right turns only.
Lanes will reopen by Monday, Jan. 8 at 6 a.m. All work is weather-dependent, and detours will be marked.
The Kansas Department of Transportation’s project will build a new express lane in each direction adjacent to the existing general-purpose lanes to increase safety and improve congestion in the area. Additional work is also taking place at U.S. 69 and the 167th Street interchange as part of the project.
