The Municipal Equality Index examines how inclusive municipal laws, policies, and services are of LGBTQ people who live and work there.
The City’s 2019 score is 86 out of a possible 100 points.
The Index recognized Overland Park for its enforceable non-discrimination ordinance, inclusive practices as an employer, cooperation in hate crime law enforcement, and leadership stances on LGBTQ equality.
The City’s 2019 score is a 169 percent increase from the City’s 2018 score of 32 points.
