Parks + Recreation Department

The Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for the recreational amenities that make Overland Park a great place to live, work and play.

Parks + Forestry

The parks and forestry division is responsible maintaining and growing the City’s parks and public spaces.

Crews maintain more than 40 annual and perennial beds, plant several hundred trees a year and remove dead and hazardous trees. They work hard to maintain our urban forest and beautify the city with flowers and foliage. The parks and forestry division also handles mowing of the City’s open spaces and lawns.

Park and forestry also work to improve and update existing park amenities and introduce new park spaces to the community, according to the parks master plan.

Recreation

With a focus on health and wellness, the Parks and Recreation Department offers high quality, affordable and convenient facilities and recreational and leisure activities for the whole family.
