Join the Overland Park Fire and Police Departments for Friends of First Responders Day on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Overland Park Fire Training Center, 12401 Hemlock St. 

This special event is designed for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, offering a fun, interactive and supportive environment to connect with local first responders.

Get ready for an exciting day filled with live demonstrations and hands-on activities, including:

  • Propane fire demonstration
  • Fire tower repelling
  • Emergency vehicle tours
  • Fire truck rides
  • Fire hose practice
  • Rescue equipment demo
  • Face painting
