Prepare for emergencies with Overland Park’s CERT training

Registration is now open for the Community Emergency Response Team training!

Overland Park’s emergency management division offers CERT training at no cost, empowering residents to assist each other and address immediate lifesaving and life-sustaining needs during emergencies.

In the aftermath of a major disaster, first responders may be overwhelmed by the demand for fire and medical services. CERT training empowers neighbors to step in and provide crucial assistance when it’s needed most.

Classes take place on Tuesday evenings at the Overland Park Fire Training Center, located at 12401 Hemlock Street, September 10-October 22 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Participants learn essential skills in:

  • Disaster preparedness,
  • Fire suppression,
  • Medical operations,
  • Light search and rescue operations, and more!

Due to the cumulative nature of CERT training, registration is only available for the entire program, not for individual classes. Training concludes with a disaster simulation.

Class size is limited, but applications will remain open until all spots are filled.
