Overland Park named in top 10 of Fortune’s Best Places to Live for Families

This year, Fortune’s 50 Best Places to Live for Families highlights a standout city in each state where multigenerational families are most likely to thrive. 

Overland Park ranked at the top of the list, coming in at number eight! 

Fortune credits Overland Park’s strong sense of community, ample parks and green spaces, strong job market and kid-friendly atmosphere for its place in the top 10. The city maintains a small-town feel while offering big-time amenities, including the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens and Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead.

To compose this year’s list, Fortune undertook a comprehensive evaluation of over 2,000 cities, towns, suburbs, exurbs, villages and townships with more than 20,000 residents, spanning all 50 states in the U.S. Top picks offer access to excellent schools, highly recommended hospitals, affordable housing and resources for older adults while fostering a strong community spirit.
