Upcoming opportunities to shape the future of Marty Park

Be a part of the exciting transformation of Marty Park!

Join us at two upcoming community meetings to shape the future of Marty Park, located at 7524 W. 74th St.

The open house-style meetings will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Overland Park Christian Church, 7600 W. 75th Street, on the following dates:

Your input is vital in shaping this neighborhood park, ensuring it meets the needs and desires of the community. Engage with Parks and Recreation staff to offer feedback and suggestions, including your favorite park features and amenities.

Marty Park is located on the original site of Marty Pool, which the City decommissioned at the end of the 2022 outdoor pool season. Following the closure of Marty Pool, the City began the process of redesigning Marty Park in its place.

The City formed the Marty Park Steering Committee to guide community engagement efforts. The steering committee, comprised of park neighbors, members of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Council, City Council members and City staff, held its first meeting this month and will continue to meet throughout the design process.

Construction of the new park is set to begin in late 2025.
