Overland Park proudly supports SevenDays and its mission to combat hate by fostering kindness and understanding across our community. SevenDays is a local nonprofit organization determined to make our community more inclusive and nurturing by creating a wave of positive change, one kind act at a time.
To honor the memory of three lives lost to a hate crime in 2014, SevenDays hosts a week-long series of community events and themed days each year to promote kindness through education and conversation. SevenDays reinvests funds raised during these events back into the community through scholarships and community enrichment programs.
Join us in championing kindness at this year’s Kindness Breakfast on Wednesday, April 10 at The Foundry at Church of the Resurrection located at 13720 Roe Ave. Coffee service begins at 7 a.m. with breakfast and a presentation at 7:30 a.m. Tickets can be purchased online in advance on the SevenDays website.
Beginning April 10, SevenDays encourages the community to embrace different ways of showing kindness to loved ones, acquaintances, and oneself, with each day dedicated to a different theme:
- Wednesday, April 10: Love – Send a heartfelt note to someone you love.
- Thursday, April 11: Discover – Explore and learn about different religions or cultures.
- Friday, April 12: Others – Perform a random act of kindness for someone in need.
- Monday, April 15: Connect – Reach out and connect with someone you don’t speak to often.
- Tuesday, April 16: You – Treat yourself with an act of self-care or self-appreciation.
- Wednesday, April 17: Go – Spend time outdoors and reconnect with nature.
- Thursday, April 18: Onward – Commit to spreading kindness beyond SevenDays and throughout the year.
