Twelve city parks have large shelters that can be reserved for parties, meetings, and other events.
All other shelters at City parks are open on a first-come, first serve basis during park hours.
City staff work hard to keep our parks and shelters clean, and we check them daily. However, we recommend bringing cleaning supplies and trash bags in the event we have visitors who don’t clean up after themselves prior to your arrival.
There is a four-hour minimum for shelter rentals.
Reservation prices are available by park below. There is a $5 permit fee in addition to the price of the reservation.

Originally built in the early 1900s to store carriages and automobiles, the Thompson Park Carriage House is a modern industrial space that includes remnants of the past, perfect for an intimate event.
The Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens offers a variety of rental spaces, including several shelters, pavilions among the gardens, and indoor spaces.
The Farmstead is a great spot to host any family-friendly event, from a small birthday part to large corporate picnic.
