Description
More than twenty years ago, Chief Yellow Eyes of the Southern Cheyenne Nation designed and led the construction of the medicine wheel at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. American Natives from around the region will visit the Arboretum to celebrate the Medicine Wheel at the Arboretum and to acknowledge the contributions to our community by all tribes, to educate non-native people about this value and to encourage understanding between all groups. Music, dances, food, crafts and demonstrations will be available for all ages. The intertribal celebration will pay tribute to first peoples' cultures both past and present.
