Fireworks Rain Show – July 5

Due to flooding in Indian Creek, extremely muddy conditions in the park and the threat of more weather in the forecast, the Overland Park Star Spangled Spectacular scheduled for Thursday, July 4, was canceled. 

A fireworks show will now take place on Friday, July 5 at 10 p.m. There will be no food trucks or musical performances on Friday.

Mayor Skoog to give State of the City Address April 25

Overland Park Mayor Curt Skoog gives 2022 State of the City address from the stage

Overland Park Mayor Curt Skoog will present his State of the City address on April 25, 2023 at Aspiria Auditorium. 

During his address, the Mayor will reflect on the successes over the last year that have made Overland Park a nationally recognized place to live and work. He will also share remarks about the City’s plans to address great challenges and opportunities that will continue moving the City forward. 

The speech will begin at 4 p.m. on April 25 inside Aspiria Auditorium, located at 6300 Sprint Parkway, Overland Park, KS 66211. 

The Overland Park Chamber of Commerce hosts the Mayor’s State of the City, which will be followed by a reception. Guests can register on the Chamber’s website. Registration to attend will remain open until noon on Tuesday, April 18.
