Overland Park snow crews prepare for anything Mother Nature sends our way each winter. Crews spend several weeks throughout October and November test driving plows at courses across the City, preparing for winter weather events.
With April 1 marking the end of snow season for the Overland Park Public Works Department, totals for the 2022-2023 winter season include:
- 14 winter weather event responses.
- 7.8 inches of winter precipitation.
- 140 staff members worked.
- More than 29,000 miles driven.
- 4558 tons of salt.
- 8538 gallons of mag chloride.
Although our area received below average precipitation this winter, Overland Park snow crews worked hard to keep City roads clear and safe.
