The City of Overland Park welcomes a new Human Resources Department leader, following a national search.
Thomas Bledsoe comes to the City from MHMR of Tarrant County, a provider of quality mental health and intellectual and developmental disability services in Texas. Bledsoe served as MHMR of Tarrant County’s chief human resources officer.
“Thomas brings a range of skills and professionalism to the organization,” said Kristy Stallings, interim city manager. “He has taken over a dynamic Human Resources team responsible for recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce of more than 1,300 full-time, part-time and seasonal employees.”
Bledsoe began working for the city in April.
“I am excited and honored to come to Overland Park and work with such a dedicated and service-oriented team of this growing community,” said Bledsoe. “The City of Overland Park’s commitment to public service and its residents, and the eagerness to adapt to new realities make Overland Park an attractive place to live and work.”
Bledsoe holds a bachelor’s degree in communication theory from Dallas Baptist University and a master’s degree in human resources management from the University of Phoenix. He holds Senior Professional in Human Resources certification from the HR Certification Institute and is recognized as a Senior Certified Professional from the Society for Human Resource Management.
