Since 2006, the City gathers and reports neighborhood indicator data as a tool to evaluate programs and activities targeted in a specific area and to identify areas that may need additional attention or resources.
The City collects data for all active and non-active neighborhood groups and homeowners associations that participate in the Neighborhood Executive Committee. However, staff further reviews and analyzes the data for neighborhoods located in the Neighborhood Conservation Program boundaries, north of 127th Street.
The neighborhood indicators include seven data sets used to monitor changes to quality of life factors at the neighborhood level. We refer to these data sets as risk factors. Those risk factors include:

Overland Park staff track this information to help provide a more complete picture of the state of the city’s neighborhoods. Overland Park adds new data as neighborhood issues change or new data sources become available.
