Fireworks Rain Show – July 5

Due to flooding in Indian Creek, extremely muddy conditions in the park and the threat of more weather in the forecast, the Overland Park Star Spangled Spectacular scheduled for Thursday, July 4, was canceled.

September Planning Commission meeting moves to Convention Center

The Overland Park Planning Commission’s regular monthly meeting will be held in Ballroom A at the Overland Park Convention Center, 6000 College Boulevard, on September 14 at 1:30 p.m.

The September meeting agenda includes several public hearing items that may be of interest to the public.

Due to concerns about COVID-19, and in order to protect the safety and health of those attending the meeting, the meeting will take place in a larger space at the convention center. This will allow for proper social distancing.

City staff sent a letter to every property owner who received a notice of a public hearing item on the September agenda alerting them of the change of venue.

Typically, the Planning Commission meets in the Council Chamber at City Hall.
