Fireworks Rain Show – July 5

Due to flooding in Indian Creek, extremely muddy conditions in the park and the threat of more weather in the forecast, the Overland Park Star Spangled Spectacular scheduled for Thursday, July 4, was canceled.

Teen Council applications open

High school students looking to make a difference in their community have a chance to do so this upcoming school year.

Applications are now open for the 2020-2021 Teen Council.

Overland Park’s Teen Council helps students get to know the City’s government, meet students from other schools, and contribute to the community with service projects.

Throughout the year, students will meet with city planners, sit behind the wheel of a snowplow, learn the proper way to plant a tree and form important relationships with elected officials.

Teen Council is open to all Overland Park high school students.

The group meets one to two times monthly throughout the school year.

Applications for the upcoming school year’s program are due Sept. 1.
