Overland Park is helping parents and students hop on the bus at Pawnee Elementary School.

This fall, the city will introduce a "Walking School Bus" at Pawnee, 9501 W. 91st St.

This is a fun, safe and active way for children to travel to and from school with adult supervision. It is designed to keep kids active and healthy while reducing traffic congestion and vehicle emissions.

Each "bus," or group of students, walk to school with adult supervision. The adult serves as the "driver" and is responsible for getting the students to and from school safely.
