Friends of the Arboretum is a not-for-profit group operating as part of the Arts and Recreation Foundation of Overland Park, Inc.

Members receive numerous benefits at the Arboretum, including discounts on plant sales and FOTA merchandise, invitations to special FOTA events, passes to the Holiday Luminary Walk and a quarterly newsletter.

FOTA meetings are usually held the second Tuesday of the month at 4 p.m. in the Arboretum's Environmental Education Visitor's Center.
