When you see a property maintenance code violation, you have more than one option:

1. Talk to your neighbor. Most neighbors will appreciate being notified of a problem so it can be corrected before a complaint is registered.

2. If this does not resolve the problem, contact Community Services at 913/895-6270 or property@opkansas.org. Please provide:

   • the exact address of the property with the violation
   • the nature of the violation

   We also ask that you provide your name, phone number and address in case the investigation requires us to contact you for more information. Your personal information is kept confidential.

• Report a property code concern online

Once a possible violation has been reported, an enforcement specialist will begin the code compliance process.
