A hotline has been established to counsel people regarding their situation, and if possible, help the homeowner prevent foreclosure on his or her home.

When someone calls the hotline, 1-888-995-HOPE (4673), they are connected with a HUD-certified (Department of Housing and Urban Development) counselor who is an expert in foreclosure prevention.

The service is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

The hotline represents a partnership between the Homeownership Preservation Foundation, mortgage companies and HUD.
