Snow Alert
9 a.m. Saturday, March 22 - Spring is here and so is the snow.
Overnight, about 3-5 inches of snow fell on Overland Park.
Snow plow operators are clearing and treating residential streets with a mixture of salt and sand. All other streets were done overnight.
Currently, the goal is to treat all streets by the time the next storm arrives, which is expected at about 11 a.m. today. Another 3-5 inches of snow is anticipated.
Snow amounts may vary, depending upon your location, as well as ground temperatures. For instance, streets are warmer than the soil, so snow accumulation in your yard may be more than a street.
An overnight snow team of plow operators is expected to report at 7:30 tonight, at this time.
Overland Park continues to monitor this late winter storm.

Party Packages
The Matt Ross Community Center offers four birthday party packages, ranging from $150 to $275 (Friday evening - Sunday). Each package comes with unlimited swim and gym time.
Party Host/Guest
Lockers provided; locks and towels are not.
Base Package - $150
- Maximum 25 attendees, including adults (see rules and regulations).
- Guests are limited to one hour in the party room (no time extensions allowed), However, you may stay as long as you like after the party to use the gym/pools.
- A cart is available to transport items in and out of the room(s); it must be returned.
- Renter brings:
- Refreshments of their choice (i.e., cake, ice cream, drinks (no red liquids), etc.)
- Party supplies and decorations
- Decorations are restricted to: balloons (staff will inflate), table decorations, party hats, banners and trinkets. Streamers and confetti are not allowed.
- Supplies/decorations need to be labeled and provided to the community center staff prior to the close of business the day before the party.
- Party guests/host are not allowed to decorate the room (affix anything to walls).
Decorations Package - $200
(5 days advance notice required)
Base Package plus MRCC will provide decorations, including: balloons, table cloth, "Happy Birthday" banner, hats and plates/utensils/cups.
Food Package - $225
(5 days advance notice required)
Base Package plus MRCC will provide chocolate/vanilla cake (1/2 sheet with child's name and age), vanilla ice cream (individual 4 oz. servings), apple juice boxes, bottled water and plates/utensils.
Party Package - $275
(5 days advance notice required)
Base Package plus MRCC will do it all! We will set up, decorate, provide the food and drinks and clean up. All you have to do is show up and have a good time.
* Patrons that reserve both party rooms will be charged double the materials supplied.
