Snow Alert
9 a.m. Saturday, March 22 - Spring is here and so is the snow.
Overnight, about 3-5 inches of snow fell on Overland Park.
Snow plow operators are clearing and treating residential streets with a mixture of salt and sand. All other streets were done overnight.
Currently, the goal is to treat all streets by the time the next storm arrives, which is expected at about 11 a.m. today. Another 3-5 inches of snow is anticipated.
Snow amounts may vary, depending upon your location, as well as ground temperatures. For instance, streets are warmer than the soil, so snow accumulation in your yard may be more than a street.
An overnight snow team of plow operators is expected to report at 7:30 tonight, at this time.
Overland Park continues to monitor this late winter storm.

Temporary Signs
Temporary signs are any sign that
is to be viewed for a short period of
time; is free-standing and/or affixed
to a wall, building or utility pole with
tape, rope, twine or nails; and is
made of paper, fabric, cardboard,
paint, marker or similar materials.

Overland Park strictly limits the use of temporary signs as they can easily undermine an otherwise attractive area and make it appear cluttered and unkempt.
Property owners are responsible for illegal temporary signs on their property and public street right-of-way adjacent to their property. Owners are allowed and encouraged to remove them from these areas.
The city has rules governing temporary signs, particularly signs for political campaigns, garage sales, real estate and advertising (requires a sign permit).
Save yourself time: find out the guidelines before you place a sign in a yard.
