All dogs and cats must be licensed by the time they reach 6 months old, or within 30 days of being brought into the city.

To get a license, animals must have an unexpired rabies vaccination. Residents are responsible for ensuring that vaccinations do not expire during the license year.

  • Online licensing
  • Printable license form
    • The form can be returned between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. to the City Clerk's Office, City Hall, 8500 Santa Fe Drive, or Municipal Court, 12400 Foster.
    • An after hours drop off box is located next to the front doors at City Hall.

Fees:

  • $6 for spayed/neutered animals
  • $10 for male/female animals

The license year is Jan. 1 through Dec. 31.

Renewal statements are mailed Jan. 1. Residents have until June 30 to license each pet without incurring a penalty; for each pet licensed on or after July 1, residents will be charged a $20 penalty per animal in addition to the license fee (OPMC 6.04).
