Snow Alert
9 a.m. Saturday, March 22 - Spring is here and so is the snow.
Overnight, about 3-5 inches of snow fell on Overland Park.
Snow plow operators are clearing and treating residential streets with a mixture of salt and sand. All other streets were done overnight.
Currently, the goal is to treat all streets by the time the next storm arrives, which is expected at about 11 a.m. today. Another 3-5 inches of snow is anticipated.
Snow amounts may vary, depending upon your location, as well as ground temperatures. For instance, streets are warmer than the soil, so snow accumulation in your yard may be more than a street.
An overnight snow team of plow operators is expected to report at 7:30 tonight, at this time.
Overland Park continues to monitor this late winter storm.

The Police Department offers fingerprinting services, Monday through Friday, to residents and those who work in the city (proof required).
Officers use a digital fingerprint machine, which does not allow the "inking" of fingerprints. The machine captures the prints digitally and then prints them on police-provided blank stock print cards.
Immigration (INS) fingerprints may be taken if the requester is applying for a green card (the requester does not have to live or work in OP). A requester needing fingerprints for citizenship or naturalization must go to the INS office.
