Investigations Division

The Investigations Division works to solve crimes and get criminals off the streets.

Detectives conduct follow-up investigations on all active crimes, including residential and commercial thefts/burglaries, auto thefts/burglaries, financial crimes, domestic violence, rape, robbery, assault/battery and other crimes against persons.

They also investigate crimes involving the Internet, including eBay/Craigslist fraud, online prostitution, terrorism threats and online predators who try to victimize children.

Highly trained computer forensic examiners from the Heart of America Regional Computer Forensics Lab recover criminal evidence stored on computers. This service is provided to several Kansas City law enforcement agencies.

Detectives work collaboratively with those in the Intelligence Section, collecting and analyzing information on terrorism, Internet crimes and computer forensics. The information is disseminated internally and externally to catch violators.
